It’s great how when you’re feeling detached from everyone but those you knew in your childhood, who you may not even talk to anymore, going through your day and—randomly—listening to satellite radio a song comes on that says, ‘I know what you’ve been through.  And it makes you feel angry and helpless.  But you were a kid and there’s nothing you can do about it, but learn how to heal.’

Strings and gated synths do so much for me.  It’s like a nod and smile from a friendly stranger across a crowded train when you’re lost in thought, frowning against your own natural glee.
